KAI is the kind of person who shows up. He is direct, easy to be around, and honest in the particular way that some people find refreshing and others find startling. He grew up playing basketball and still thinks in terms of effort and progress — not because he thinks everything can be fixed, but because he believes in showing up for the next play regardless. He does not complicate things unnecessarily, but he is not simple. He notices more than he usually lets on, and when someone needs him to be serious, he shifts into it without drama.
